Two Turkish Soldiers
Killed In Car Bomb Blast
TUNCELI, (Northern
Kurdistan) - Reuters- July 29, 2005- Two Turkish soldiers were killed on
Friday after a bomb planted in their car detonated in southeastern Turkey, scene
of years of conflict with separatist Kurdish guerrillas, officials said.
There were no
immediate claims of responsibility for the attack, which also wounded three
civilians, a local official said on condition of anonymity.
Police were
investigating at a car park in the centre of the town of Hakkari, near the
borders with Iran and Iraq, where the blast occurred.
A large amount
of plastic explosives was used in the attack, which destroyed several vehicles,
the official said.
Separately, one
police officer and a civilian were wounded in two blasts late on Thursday at the
town of Yuksekova, some 100 km (60 miles) from Hakkari, he said.
Also, Unidentified gunmen opened fire Friday on
an army recruitment office in the northeastern Turkish province of Gumushane,
killing a soldier on watch outside the building, Anatolia news agency reported.
