KurdistanObserver.com KNC Urges KRG To Control All Of Southern Kurdistan KNC Urge the Kurdistan Govt To Push And Extend Their Control Of All the Kurdish Areas Within Iraq August 16, 2007 Massacre of Yazidi Kurds: KNC Press Release Kurdish National Congress of North America along with the entire Kurdish Nation is deeply saddened by the horrific terrorist acts against our nation in Gir Uzeir and Siba Sheikh Khidir near Mosul on August 14, 2007. The target of these ruthless attacks were Yazidis who are the most ancient Kurds and as a result of this terrorist attack, over 400 innocent Yazidis were murdered and hundreds critically injured. KNC-NA unequivocally condemns these vicious and cowardly acts, we urge the Kurdistan Regional Government to push and pursue and extend their control of all the Kurdish areas of Southern Kurdistan within Iraq, by speeding up implementation of article 140 of the Iraqi constitution, to serve and protect people of Kurdistan, especially the Yezidi Kurds who are oppressed more not only because of ethnicity but also religion which is one of the oldest religions in the world. We also call Kurdistan Regional Government and international community to take urgent actions to protect the safety of Yezidi Kurds and punish the perpetrators of these inhuman crimes. Because the Yezidi religion is not only Kurdish people's richness but the inheritance of all humanity. We wholeheartedly extend our deepest sympathy to our nation and to the families, friends and the loved ones of the victims of these terrorist attacks.
