Under supervision of President Jalal Talabani, PUK politburo held a meeting in
Baghdad yesterday to discuss the political situation and recent challenges in
Iraq.
They discussed the relation between the Federal and Kurdistan Region
governments, the best way for solving the problems and developing this relation
to make a positive reflect on the democratic experiment in Iraq, and to secure
the legal rights of Kurdistan people.
They also discussed the issue of al-Maliki’s government on the political,
security and service fields, where they emphasized the necessity of activating
this government and reform it as a national reconciliation government.
Discussions also were made on the visit of Kurdistan’s government delegation
headed by PM Nechirvan Barzani to Baghdad and his talks with the federal
government to clarify the Kurdish opinion towards the problems between the two
governments.
The meeting emphasized the necessity of issuing the Oil and Gas Law by the Iraqi
Parliament. It also renewed its emphasize to activate the quintuple statement
articles for the major blocs to solve the problems, establishing national
accordance principles and real participation in ruling the country and making
the general policies.
