Nominating President Jalal Talabani for 4 more years

By: Steve Tataii

December 23, 2005

The first article of nomination I wrote was titled:

“Masoud Barzani for President of South Kurdistan, Jalal Talabani for President of Arabistan,

and Lakhdar Brahimi should resign”.

Although my request was to fix the problem quickly in one attempt, or as they say: “Kill two birds with one stone”, but we got what was meant in that article for the entire “Iraq” instead, and also President Massoud Barzani for Independent South Kurdistan.

This is my second article of nomination for President Talabani to hopefully accept the Presidency of “Iraq” until the problems are fixed, and with peace and security established in the Kurds and Arab regions both. Therefore, with great respect I hereby state to President Talabani; that:

Dear President Jalal Talabani, please accept this nomination to continue your great and unprecedented services to the “modernized” civilization of the ancient Mesopotamia’s region for all its peoples in general, and for the long suppressed and terrorized Kurdish people, the aboriginal natives of Kurdistan in particular.

Peace and Security are the two most essential prerequisites to the long lasting stability and progress between any given two nations. In this instance the homeland of “The brave Kurds”, overwhelmed by the cowardly plots against them by a few external nations far from the region, whose venture and insensitive planning to redraw its original map partitioned into 4 out of their envy and bigotry but with absolutely no substance in human values nor vision in 1918 through the 1920s, which has left behind devastation to the Kurdish land, and tragedies in colossal proportion to its precious Kurdish people.

You are a recognized and qualified leader in the region sir. The Arabs trust and respect you more than their own, and they must encourage your leadership, because you are the best leader not only for “Iraq”, but for an “ever-reshaping post-Iraq”, which seeks to be independent in its true meaning of the word as it stood prior to the 1920s. When Kurds and Arabs of Iraq, under pressure to be fused by external powers in the 1920s have lost their original Liberty, Freedom, and Security to remain sovereign, now having a chance to live in their own way of life, and let others live in theirs. On the other hand, as we say in America: “Live and Let Live”.

When they were forced to face off with one another in unfamiliar wars, so unfair, so unbalanced, and so unwanted; that their peace and security was shattered by those series of alien forces, breaking apart their peace and stability gained in centuries, but ending up to create the today’s terrorist thugs, delved in animosity they otherwise never had intended to find. This was made possible only with arming the puppet leaders by the known external powers to do their dirty work through their phony regimes. The regimes, whom operations have now become a pain in the neck, and they must all be changed or Turkey for example, being on the top of their list, will cause great

embarrassments to its entire population as well as its western allies.

When their focus in their own communities was destabilized, tampered with, and ultimately shattered to a great extent. And finally, when their human potentials, as they stood in the front ranks of Science, Literature, Agriculture, Mathematics, and many other wonders and discoveries of life were interrupted from their normal growth and development, as other nations’ remained on track to move forward without external negative forces to control their governments, boundaries, and resources. “Iraq” needs you to “de-Iraqisized” it to its original and normally competed status by Kurds and Arabs, as well as other native minorities, along with other newly arrived immigrants since the 15th century.

Not long ago you suggested; that those few Kurds leaving Kirkuk Kurdistan are acting like traitors, because Kirkuk needs them to help heal her wounds from ethnic cleansings and Arabization of Saddam era. Of course you really didn’t mean to use those harsh words on native Kurds of Kirkuk, but it was one of your remarkable skills in your leadership qualities. The Kurds of Kirkuk have paid dearly with their lives and their properties yet to be reclaim by them, and not the 10,000 dinar Arabization ethnic cleansing Arabs hauled in from the South and elsewhere by Saddam’s lazy thugs with Kurdish blood stains on their hands.

For the same token dear Mr. President Talabani; I ask you to do the same you expect of your Kirkuki fellow home town Kurds, and don’t leave your capacity as “Iraq” President already held for nearly one year. As you are a Kirkuki yourself, then don’t leave us in Kirkuk at the whim of a non-Kurd Presidents. Not now, not ever, and certainly not until after an Independent South Kurdistan has been officially recognized, and Kirkuk has been secured in the bosoms of her motherland “Kurdistan” as namer mala Mestafa Barzani had fought for all his life. Officially recognized for now and forever. A figurehead may be sir, but you’ll always have the executive veto power to stop or change any bad laws. Trust me sir, presidents do have the ultimate say.

What is a nation without its national and territorial integrity? We welcomed the stay of foreigners since the 15th century, but they knew as they should know now; that the government leaders of this sacred Kurdish land shall remain Kurdish as long as they respect that reality, and they do so willingly, because those immigrants too have a homeland with their own people in charge of their governments.

I see your leadership as a dedication to save the two peoples of Arabs and Kurds in hard times they all face today. Great leaders are hard to come by in hard times. We, the Kurds, have always been willing to save those wanting to free themselves from the hands of Tyrants, and we have done that many times in the course of our world history. In fact we have done that in such sincerity; that lately we have neglected our own, and had to struggle to protect our own Kurdish territories since 1920s.

Iraq needs your leadership, because you’ve brought the bulk of the unthinkable security, and peace with nearly completed stages of the two nations in hopes of their sovereignty and independent if you stay in power for at least another four more years. After all, we take pride to maintain 4 year terms for U.S. Presidency in America. Why not “Iraq” shows its appreciation by taking advantage of your leadership as the President with such qualities to lead second to none in all of Baghdad and its respective Arab towns and cities.

Finally, I urge you to speed up the unity of the two main Kurdish parties with one Kurdish Prime Minister and one legislature, so that the beacon of our Democracy in the region centered in the Independent South Kurdistan shines brighter than ever. The sun that has blinded many bigots still dreaming to keep the Kurds captive in the 21st century! What a joke. If they only knew what they’re up against, they would all go and hide in their rat holes like Saddam did. Perhaps by doing so, they can remain free for a short while longer. That is if their own people let them escape from Justice.
