Turkey's Agent Promotes Turkish Terrorism
June 2, 2007
Michael Rubin, speaking at a security
conference hosted by the Turkish generals last Thursday, said terrorism was a
"strategy" that is not necessarily limited to weaker groups trying to win a
battle against stronger ones. "It is wrong to call it the strategy of the weak,"
he was quoted as saying by the Anatolia news agency, explaining that it could be
very powerful when used by states.
Rubin who is apparently on Turkey's payroll
also said in his speech that asymmetrical threats could not be resolved if
diplomatic means are not used properly, adding that this would create problems
especially in terms of issues related to terrorism. "Iraqi Kurdish leader
Massoud Barzani is denouncing violence. But should Ankara make political
concessions in the face of terrorism? The problem of asymmetrical threat with
Iraqi Kurdish leaders is of a character that could escalate terrorism," he said.
