 Barzani In Washington On An Official Visit

Kurdistan Observer- Oct 23, 2005- Massoud Barzani, President of Southern Kurdistan, traveled today to Washington following an official invitation by the Bush administration. In Washington, Barzani will conduct formal talks with the American president and members of Congress.

The invitation marks the first official invitation by an American administration to an official of Kurdistan.

At his departure from Hawler air, Mr. Barzani said that the agenda of his visit will cover informing Mr. Bush on the Iraqi situation in general and Kurdistan in particular.

Mr. Barzani said that he will also travel to London to conduct similar talks with British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Nechirvan Barzani and Barham Salih are also traveling with the Kurdish president.
