When Are We Going to Allow Our Kurdish Allies Into This fight for liberation?

As a an American citizen, retired military member and an avid believer in democracy I think my government could go a long way toward addressing the past horrific actions of Hussein against the Kurds and deliver a strong blow to the Sunni terrorist’s and former regime hold-outs by giving Mosul and all of the former Kurdish lands back to the people who rightfully own it.

We need to swiftly get the Kurds directly involved in northern Iraqi security and stability operations, not later but now. This should include supporting those operations in places like Kirkuk and Mosul. The pontificating by scholars, pundits and “middle east experts” about the risk of a civil war now ring hollow, primarily because there is a civil war going on in Iraq right now.

This is not about disgruntled Iraqi nationalist or freedom fighters who hate Americans. It is about the murdering Hussein regime members who are very worried they will get what they have given once they are captured. But Coalition hands are tied because we do not know who is friend and who is foe. Kurdish allies, imbedded with Coalition forces, would easily help in making that important distinction. By holding back on the Kurdish option we have done nothing more than made it easy for terrorist to kill law abiding Iraqi citizens, allies and members of the free world who are attempting to liberate an oppressed people.

By promoting the Kurdish people to support this counter terrorism effort the current terror dynamic will change, nearly instantly. Safe havens for Hussein terrorist, Islamist murderers, foreign fighters and murderers will begin to diminish. Intelligence will improve because we will have

Iraqi dealing with Iraqi. This may offer hope to many people in that region who are afraid and intimidated by the murdering cutthroats who now ravage towns such as Mosul.

As an American I am seeing growing casualty lists everyday on the news.

Yet we seem hamstrung by our lack of intelligence and understanding of the enemy. Kurdish involvement would help in those areas too because it is their land the terrorist are openly operating within. Had we given it back to the Kurds, months ago, Mosul would not be such a safe haven for the insurgents. Let us give back to the Kurds what is theirs and get their help in wiping out these insurgents and killers.

Support the active involvement of Kurdish fighters in northern Iraq.

Mosul should be the first place to start…
