TURKEY REQUESTS EXTRADITION OF PKK TERRORIST KESPIR FROM NETHERLANDS

Turkey requested extradition of PKK terrorist Nuriye Kespir who had been captured while she was trying to enter the Netherlands illegally last year, from the Netherlands.

Turkey conveyed the dossier on extradition request to the Dutch authorities through the Turkish Embassy in The Hague.

Terrorist Nuriye Kespir sought political asylum in the Netherlands following her arrest on September 28, 2001 while she was trying to enter this country illegally.

The Dutch Justice Ministry accepted Nuriye Kespir's asylum application and opened an investigation on whether or not she had committed a crime.

Nuriye Kespir is now being kept in prison in the Netherlands.

According to the Dutch Justice Ministry, terrorist Nuriye Kespir's political asylum request would be most probably rejected.
