Parliament to Be Formed in Southern Iraq
(Al-Mada)
A media source in southern Iraq has revealed efforts to form a popular parliament including all the spectrums in the south. The source said the parliament will include 150 members representing the three provinces of Basra, Nasiriya, and Amara. The conference held in Basra called for the formation of this popular parliament. The vast participation in the parliament reflects the importance the southern people place on southern federalism, which will enable them to take care of their interest themselves and to be away from centralism, from which they suffer.

Kurdish Lawmaker: Deal With Kirkuk
(Addustour)
Fuad Massom, a Kurdish parliament member, has called on the government to deal with the issue of Kirkuk as stated in the interim law. He added that the agreement between the list of the United Iraqi Alliance and the Kurdish Alliance began to solve the issue of Kirkuk two months after the formation of the government. He said postponing it means to follow the same policy of the former regime regarding Kirkuk.
