Jalal Shaban, Co- Founder of the KNC, Dies at Age 64

 

July 12, 2002

 

Kurdish personality Jalal Shaban died on July 11 /2002 , he was 64 years old.  

Mr. Shaban was born to a patriotic Kurdish family in Amedy [Amadiah] Southern Kurdistan, he finished high school in Kurdistan and obtained his engineering degree from the U.K., he joined the Kurdish revolution in 1974. Mr Shaban then settled in the United Arab Emarates where he remained with his family until he settled permanently in the USA.

Mr Shaban remained active politically, he was a member of the founding conference of the Kurdish National Congress of North America (KNC).

 

His love for his people and his beloved Kurdistan remained strong to the last day of his life.

 

Kr Saban is survived by his wife Dr Haifa Shaban and his two sons Shivan and Gavan.
