Yesterday, Wednesday 3 July 2002 at Salah-al-Din, leader Barzani received a Patriotic Union of Kurdistan delegation which comprised Dr Barham Ahmad Salih, Arsalan Bayiz and Imad Ahmad, members of the PUK Political Bureau; and Aso Ali, member of the Leadership Council.

At the meeting, Dr Barham Ahmad Salih conveyed the greetings of the PUK secretary-general, Mam Jalal to leader Barzani. The current political situation in Kurdistan, Iraq and the region, and bilateral relations were discussed at the meeting. Leader Barzani conveyed his greetings to Mam Jalal. Members of the Political Bureau, Sami Abd-al-Rahman, Dr Rozh Nuri Shawes, Fadil Mirani, Za'im Ali and Masrur Barzani; member of the central committee, Bruska Nuri Shawes; and Sidad Barzani attended the meeting.

The two side's political bureaus held a detailed meeting on the issue of electricity and reached the conclusion that citizens of the Kurdistan region, particularly those in Arbil Governorate, should get their share of electricity uninterruptedly.
