Southern Kurdistan vs. the Kurds
By: Dhanjit Dhalliwal

Exactly for whom are the Kurdish Iraqi officials working for now? The
Arabs and Turks seem the most likely candidate. If the Kurdish Iraqi officials
work to see the disbandment of the PKK within its territories, the Iraqi Kurds
are in complicity with the Arabs and Turks to seek the cultural genocide of the
larger Mid-Eastern Kurdish people.
All this while, Barzani and Talabani were of the opinion that Saddam Hussein was
the enemy of the Kurds but in actual fact, Kurdish enemies remain much closer to
home - the Kurdish officials working for the Central Baghdad government.
It is very demoralizing to a people when their own people turn against one
another.
The Kurds are in nobody's land because of their own doings and short comings.
Talabani now seems to be enjoying his role of a new found power while secretly
seeking to destroy the very fabric of larger Kurdish communities.
The policy of divide and conquer will continue to plague all segments of the
Kurdish people unless there is a serious effort to retain Kurdish culture and
nationalism.
It is a dark day when such reports abound. The Arabs and Turks need not do
anything - some Kurds will do it for them.
5 million southern Kurds need to rally against the seemingly immoral values of
Kurdish leaders fueled by their lust for power. Why is the Arab League more
important than the Kurdish Parliament? Why are Arabic and Turkish racist
attitudes towards the Kurds take more precedence than the well being of all
Kurds?
To Talabani and the KDP-PUK, Kurds everywhere are your people too. Why abandon
and help Arabs, Persians, and Turks kill them???
