Ankara--Iran has not accepted the demand for the extradition of the
terror
organization the Workers Party of Kurdistan's Chairmanship Council
Leader Cemil Bayik and his men. Iran has established a special airport
in order to facilitate the transportation of Kurdish people who live in
north Iraq and Iran to and from Europe.
According to the information received by the Turkish intelligence units,
the
Tehran administration will start transporting passengers from Dusseldorf,
Germany, to Urumiyeh Airport, which Iran established on its border with
Iraq. The officials pointed out that the airport has started operating
because of the region's strategic importance.
Travel Without Visas
The Iran administration established a company called Medes Air Company
for this special implementation. The company has launched an advertisement
campaign over the Internet in order to promote its flights. In the advertisement
it is said that the tourists can "go to Kurdistan" without acquiring a
visa from Iran. The company's first flight will be at 15:30 hours local
time today (April 7). It is reported that the cost of a flight between
Dusseldorf and Urumiyeh is 700 Euros. The company reportedly aims to transport
almost 80,000 passengers in the area.
Within the framework of the implementation, the tourists, who will land
in Iran,
may obtain a "transit visa" and go through the Iraqi border and go
to Irbil and
Sulaymaniyah, under the control of the Kurdistan Democratic Party,
via the Hajj 'Umran area. Tourists will only need to have their passports
or documents
approved in Dusseldorf with them during the trip.
Foreign Ministry Monitoring
Iran's new air bridge has activated the Foreign Ministry. The Ministry,
which
learned of the developments three days ago, warned its officials in
Dusseldorf
and Berlin and asked that the organization be monitored. The Foreign
Ministry
reportedly is trying to determine the route that will be used by the
Medes Air
Company of Iran during its flights. The officials said, "Now the PKK
will
establish the line between Europe and north Iraq. Implementation without
visa
requirements will be a major advantage for the organization." The officials
pointed out the following:
"With these flights, Iran will both earn the income that the north Iraqis
passing through Turkey to Europe would leave during entrance through
the Habur gate and would support the PKK militants, who aim to access the
camps in the north Iraq and Iran regions from Europe."
