WKI President, Dr. Najmaldin Karim, expressed shock and regret 
over the murder of five men during an assassination attempt against Dr.Barham Salih, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government in Suleymania.  

Karim said,  "Our thoughts and condolences go to the families and loved ones of those killed while protecting Kak Barham, our friend, and a friend to many
in Washington where he served Kurdistan so well.  We hope that those responsible for this vicious attack will be swiftly brought to justice and hope that the scourge of terrorism will be forever removed from Kurdistan."
