*Turkish Kurd fugitive arrested in Moscow

MOSCOW, Feb 6 (AFP)  A Turkish fugitive wanted by Ankara for his links to the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) was arrested Tuesday at Moscow international airport, the FSB security service was quoted as saying Wednesday by ITAR-TASS.
Gekalp Sahin, 30, was detained with a false passport while seeking to board a plane to Amsterdam, the same source said.

Sahin has been sentenced to 12 years imprisonment in Turkey for his role in the PKK, according to the FSB, which is expected to hand the fugitive over to Ankara.

The PKK declared an end in September 1999 to its armed uprising after its jailed leader Abdullah Ocalan called for a peaceful solution to the Kurdish conflict.
