June 9—The Kurdistan Regional Prime Minister Dr. Barham Salih and his delegation
met with the Syrian Vice-President Abdul Haleem Khadam and the Deputy
General-Secretary of the ruling Syrian Baath Party Abdulla Al-Ahmar today.
The talks covered bilateral relations, exchange of views regarding the
regional issues and possible developments in the area.
Iraq
Settles Arab Families in Christian Villages

June 6—The Iraqi racist regime has arranged for 200 Arab families to be
transferred from Hamam Aleel to be permanently settled in Kurdistan districts
of Bartila, Alqush, Karamlees, and the surrounding villages still under
its control. The municipalities have been ordered to grant the new Arab
settlers free plots of land to build their residences. The districts
are officially part of the Mosul Governorate.
Meanwhile
in Kirkuk the Iraqi authorities have given six million Iraqi dinars for
the purpose of relocating a number of Arab settlers from the areas of Jabal
Himreen to the city of Kirkuk. The regime in Baghdad has brought out a
new incentive scheme for its ethnic cleansing and Arabization policy that
grants any new Arab settler in Kirkuk a free grant of ten million Iraqi
dinars per family. back
