The President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party Masoud Barzani held a lengthy meeting with Dr. Barham Salih, who briefed the Kurdish leader about his recent diplomatic tour of Syria, Sweden, Finland and Turkey. Dr. Salih gave his assessment of improving international standing of the Kurdish cause and the increasing sympathy and support for the evolving democratic experiment in Iraqi Kurdistan. The talks also covered the Kurdistan leadership’s perspective on potential developments and possible changes in Iraq and the region. The two sides affirmed that both KDP and PUK share and agree on their vision for the future of the region and Iraq. It was also agreed that both parties would pursue the necessary steps in order to implement the peace and reconciliation process. Arsalan Bayiz and Emad Ahmad, senior officials of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, accompanied Dr. Salih in his meeting with Mr. Barzani.
