The Sunni Triangle of Death And Terror

Every day brings  with it new gruesome events and pictures from Iraq and to be more specific from the Sunni triangle of Iraq, which has become a safe haven for sadistic Islamic terrorists and insurgents in Iraq. Every day we see and hear about these terrible video images of Islamic terrorist monsters kidnapping and cutting the throats of innocent civilians   Iraqis and foreigners alike, under the banners of Islam,  a religion which is turned into a symbol of hatred, intolerance and brutality. Three innocent young Kurds from Zakho( Iraqi Kurdistan) were abducted and brutally slaughtered before the cameras only because they were Kurds, 12 young Kurdish recruits were lured into Bakuba and then were brutally murdered in conspiracy with elements of Bakuba governor and police. Innocent Americans, Italians, Nepalis, Britons, Turks are being slaughtered in the name of Islam. The Sunni triangle has become a hotbed for terrorism where defeated remnants of Saddam, ruthless Arab terrorists from Saudi Arabia, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, non-Arab terrorists from Iran, Afghanistan und chechneya are infiltrating Iraqi borders unchecked and find shelter and support from the Sunnis in the Falluja, Ramadi, Samaraa, Balad, Mosul, TalAfar   . The hatred in those regions for Kurds, Americans and Shiites is immense because those areas were the strongholds of Saddam regime and they see these factions which brought about the downfall of Saddam Hussein as their  bitter enemies.

Iraqi Kurdistan ( Kirkuk, Sulaimani, Arbil, Duhok, Khanaquin, Shangal) in the north, as well as Iraqi Shias in the south  are paying the price of the bloodbath perpetrated by bloody Islamic and Sunni terrorists, the whole process of reconstruction and democratic progress is blocked because of the incompetence of multinational forces and the political indecisiveness of the interim Iraqi administration in dealing firmly with those terrorists which have turned Iraq into   a centre of international Islamic terrorism. The softy softy approach in dealing with the enclaves of terrorism and insurgency in the Sunni triangle has encouraged those terrorist to commit more atrocities and brutality. Those murderers  are hailed by Arab media as heroes and resistance elements and is constantly incited to do more bloodbath and instability in Iraq.

The American administration is losing its credibility because of its failure to act decisively and secure the insurgent towns and cities of Sunni triangle, the new interim Iraqi government is only making threats to act decisively but showed that it lacks the teeth to bite, the powerful Peshmerga forces are being blocked through the Americans from playing vital role in securing Kirkuk and Mosul, the results are that the terrorists are getting bolder by the day and slowly gaining the upper hand and turning Iraq into a country of fear and chaos.

The serious forces in Iraq which has played significant roles in the demise of Baath dictatorship ( KDP, PUK, SCIRI, INC) must  be given the initiative again to play their role in defeating the local Sunni and Arab jihad terrorists from abroad.

Iraq is getting out of control and civil war is looming, The Kurds and Shias  can't wait for ever and see those terrorist elements destroying Iraq, and a civil war to defeat those radical Sunni elements is inevitable if the multinational forces and interim government continue to show their incompetence in containing this wave of terror and destruction.
The Kurds can't wait for ever seeing that bigotry and murder of their sons continue in Bakuba, Falluja, Balad, Samarr, Mosul and Kirkuk. The well trained and well experienced Kurdish Peshmarga forces are ready to teach those terrorists a lesson they will never forget and to clear Kirkuk and Mosul from those criminal and subversive elements.

The Kurds and Shias must be more active and get rid of the passive role they have adopted since transfer of authority to the interim Iraqi government. Eventually if Iraq can't be preserved as a unitary state, then  the American policy must be reviewed and be prepared to accept the reality of Iraq disintegrating into three states, Kurdistan in the North, Shia state in the south and a Sunni state in the centre. The world must not regard the unity of Iraq as sacrosanct if its going to bring chaos into the region, the Balkan   ( previous Yugoslavia) is a good example were division of a country contributes to peace and stability and not vice versa.
